Crystal Meth - They Call It Ice
By Mary F. Holley, MD - Founder of MAMa
467 Pages, Hardback, Tate Publishing
This book is the definitive study on methamphetamine. Crystal Meth: They Call it Ice offers a comprehensive description of what methamphetamine is, how it works, and why it is so destructive to the lives of our young people. It describes the personality changes, the insanity, the abandoned children and premature death caused by meth.
Crystal Meth: They Call it Ice includes a 28 page color section showing the appearance of the drug, its common paraphernalia, home "labs" for the manufacture of meth, the destruction in people's lives, and shocking brain scans detailing the extent of brain damage associated with meth.
Crystal Meth: They Call it Ice also explores the risk factors for addiction. The widespread use of alcohol, nicotine and marijuana provides a social and biochemical backdrop for methamphetamine addiction. Social risk factors such as peer pressure, broken homes, and the loss of discipline in the home and school are discussed. The underlying disrespect for God that is so prevalent is oirr culture is exposed as a cause of drug addiction.
This book also reveals the power of a meaningful relationship with God to heal an addict and restore him to sanity. It brings the addict and his family to the cross of Jesus Christ for forgiveness and healing. The fully recovered addict will be a very powerful Christian, able to reach others with His mercy and compassion. The church is challenged to receive these people, nurture them, and equip them to minister to others.
The Life Recovery Workbook: A Biblical Guide through the Twelve Steps
As a complement to The Life Recovery Bible (more than 800,000 copies sold), The Life Recovery Workbook leads the recovering addict into reflection and practical application. By placing the 12 steps of recovery into a firm biblical context, the workbook brings scriptural principles into personal focus. Contemporary “Recovery Profiles,” expanded descriptions of each of the 12 steps, and open-ended questions work in unison with The Life Recovery Bible. Far more than just teaching about the 12 steps, the workbook is a guide to an in-depth working of the steps, making the principles of recovery come alive for “one day at a time” living.
New Testament Only Life Recovery Bible
This 12 step Bible was written for the rehabilitation community. It is a
New Living Translation of the New Testament and includes sidebars and
footnotes correlating scripture with the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous
and Narcotics Anonymous.
I have been distributing these Bibles in the Marshal County jails and
rehabilitation centers for the past several years. Inmates are eager to
get them and study them. Every time I go into the jail, some one will show
me the Bible I gave him 2 months ago, all dog eared and underlined.
Mothers now distributes these Bibles for a donation of $10 + shipping and
handling for the New Testament, Proverbs, and Psalms . This is a 20%
discount off of suggested retail prices.
We recommend that you use them in your counseling and outreach efforts,
support groups, and prayer groups.
Recovery from addiction requires a good solid Bible study, and this Bible
provides an understandable and comprehensive study of the Bible as it
relates to addiction and recovery.
The New Living Translation is easy to understand and at the same time
faithful to the text.
This Bible includes Recovery notes, 12 step devotionals, Recovery profiles
of numerous characters from the Bible, and reflections of the Serenity
prayer.
The Bible has a lot to say about addiction and recovery, the 12 steps, and
Serenity. God has dealt with a lot of broken people over the years, and He
can handle addiction, too.
The study of the Word of God draws up closer to Him as we pray. He speaks
to us in His word.

Ozark Meth: A Journey of Destruction and Deliverance Paperback
The book is an ". . .examination of the lives of 30 recovering methamphetamine addicts." Much of the book is in the words of the 30 people, as they answer various questions. The authors note the variability of people and answers, but find one dominant trait among the recoverers, and that is that Jesus Christ delivers them. Another generality the authors discover is that meth use begins as a search for relationships and approval. They speculate, and find confirmation in comments from the 30, that recovery may require new relationships and approval from a new source, a probable explanation for the ubiquity of Christian salvation among people who've recovered, and certainly an extra tip for those who might want to help someone recover. I consider the book good for meth addicts to read, and even better to read for people who love one or more specific meth addict(s), whether residing in the Missouri Ozarks or not. The last chapter, "So What Do We Do Now?" names approaches many readers will itch to try. The book is five-star. David Carlyle, "Another Land."

Prodigals and Those who Love Them
Ruth Bell Graham knew about prodigals--two of her five children were spiritual wanderers. This is not a "how to" book that dispenses easy advice on ways to win back a prodigal. Instead, it is a collection of readings one woman turned to for comfort when her children wandered from God. It shows how Graham's faith persevered and grew regardless of the outcome of her prodigals' stories.
Part One introduces readers to five prodigals who "returned to the father." Part Two offers comfort and encouragement through Scripture, poems, hymns, prayers, and more. Readers will be touched by the honest feelings of pain, frustration, and uncertainty Graham expresses so eloquently. And they will share in the lessons she learned about God's sovereignty and ultimate peace. Now beautifully repackaged, Prodigals and Those Who Love Them brings peace and hope to all parents of "wayward" children.

Praying Prodigals Home Paperback
The enemy has used the temptations of this world to lure so many of our young people away from the values and teaching of their Christian upbringing. Bestselling authors Quin Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock have both endured the pain of waiting for the return of prodigal children. Yet even as they gave each situation into the hands of the Lord, they did not wait passively, succumbing to fear and despair. Instead they battled for their children in prayer, waiting expectantly for Almighty God to intervene. And He did! Now they tell the parents of prodigals how to pray their prodigals home, and how the experience can draw parents into the arms of their heavenly Father and strengthen their bonds of love.
Parenting Your Adult Child: How You Can Help Them Achieve Their Full Potential
Rodney Williams was a drug, alcohol, and gambling addict for over 20 years. While cooking meth amphetamines, he was trapped in an explosion and caught fire. That was the night he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He attended a Christian rehabilitation program then graduated from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies. He was pastor of a small church in South Mississippi for eight years before pursuing full time evangelism. His story was featured on the radio drama, Unshackled and The 700 Club. He has spoken before thousands of people in schools, prisons, and churches and operates a nationwide prison ministry. William's testimony is the subject of his book, Club Meth to Christ.
Parents in Pain: Overcoming the Hurt & Frustration of Problem Children
A police car rolls up in front of your house--with your son in the back seat. A voice on the phone says your daughter is all right but won't tell you where she is--and then hangs up. A wallet disappears from your dresser and you're sure who took it--at least, somewhat sure. Many parents face problems beyond their ability to cope. John White ofers comfort to parents of children with severe problems--alcoholism, homosexuality, even suicide. Though he gives practical suggestions, this is not a how-to manual for making rebellious children behave. Rather the author helps all parents deal with their own guilt, frustration, anger and sense of inadequacy. White first asks, Why has the child rearing become such a complicated task? He looks to common sense, science and the Bible for an answer. Next he focuses on the parent-child relationship itself as trust erodes, arguments arise and the need for professional or legal counsel develops. Finally, he cautions us to avoid parenting techniques which emphasize pragmatism at the expense of what is moral and just. A book of comfort and counsel to parents in pain.
